A competition was held by the Davidson Public Art Commission for artists to team up with landscape architects to conceptualize a design for the often overlooked 30’ x 60’ space along Main Street in Davidson, NC. The design was to reflect the theme of a children’s book garden. The committee chose JBLA along with Lydia Musco, to install the design in the space. The design consisted of sculptural seating along a brick wall, pervious pavers around an existing oak, and quotes from children books from metal artist, Ben Steele, under the seat. Lydia Musco’s concrete sculptures resembled stacks of colorful books.
